urban DH racing is cool because it's its own thing. and it's amazing. but seeing the last 15+% of a track being pavement in a UCI DH race? crushed gravel at the top of the track? this course is awful and i look forward to the comments from the racers. these men and women are the most elite MOUNTAIN bike racers in the world. is this course a joke? might as well just copy the EWS course selection - they're putting in the work to keep the circuit fresh and challenging...

This really should be called the 'North Eastern States" Cup instead of just 'Eastern' . That said, looks like a great series coming up as usual

Good point and we are going after that market as well. We just felt that we should do the press release into the market that we are already in to let people know that it is available and keep them informed. One of the drivers in us releasing the suspension lift kit came from people asking us about our Transit at cycling events.

I am fortunate enough to live in Denver and have access to several lift-assisted bike parts. I hit Whistler each year for several days. Therefore I have both a DH and a trail bike. Modern enduro/trail bikes are excellent machines in so many ways. However, My 3-year old DH bike is still that much better on bigger/faster/techy stuff than my...

Onyx makes great hubs, but the drilled out hub body I wouldn't go for. The minimal weight savings are not worth the headache of clean and or dirt/grit/grime that would get inside there.

How do you enforce access for a certain group but only if they meet a certain classification (ie class 1emtbs). You eventually have situations like this.... "Why should my bike not be allowed since the only difference is it has a throttle?" This was brought up by a land manager who states: "The problem, which seems to have been purposely created, is that this category of transportation has multiple groups and someone determined that at least one of the groups is not appropriate for multi use trails. That would be like saying 9 speeds are ok but any other speeds...

Come out to any Western state, sit anyone of many trail committee meeting, access meeting, rangers meeting, here what many of those same equestrian and hiker groups say about bikes and you may begin to understand the alarm that e-bikes sound to us. "New kid on the block " directly threatens our access due to direct association to regular bikers. We "all look the same" to non-bikers. As soon as "electric" is discovered/ heard they will become more vigilant against two wheels

Loss of trail access is the big ticket. The various trail user groups throughout the US are very heavily anti-MTB. Mountain biker advocacy groups across the US have fought a long hard battle to get what little access we have. As of late, the fight has been going very well, mainly due to the advocacy groups showing that we, as MTB'ers, are willing to work WITH the other trail users and pay attention to the trail restrictions and regulations. Bike companies pushing their agenda with E-bikes and purposely making them nearly indistinguishable from regular mountain bikes just makes the fight...

I don't think the statement 'europeans have embraced them' is true. It's just as divided and contentious issue, despite sales being strong. My personal opinion is they are simply a motorbike ripping round my trails. I have a deep anger when one passes me. I know this is totally irrational and if you study the issue my response is selfish. However this is my innate reaction, like I'm being cheated by an e-doper or someone has pushed in front of me in a queue. Maybe I need to learn to chill...
