to say "no advantage gained" is so subjective and shouldn't be part of the discussion. angel was 10th, dak norton 11th. their time diff was .11 seconds. if angel stayed on a line that kept him in the course (possibly meaning more direction change or hitting bigger bumps), he could have lost that .11 and may have given up a spot and points. his line almost looks straighter than it normally would have been.

then again age doesn't really factor into it if the design is pretty dialed to begin with. A lot of the upgrades that were made to the tr11 this year arguably made it close the gap to the Sender design wise, not soar past it. (yes, I am a suspension nerd that also happen to own a Sender, so ever so slight bias here Wink ) Also, it would hardly be a surprise if Canyon put out a new (bigger wheeled) frame before or during this coming season - especially if the loftier mr Wallace remain in place. They have...

huh - say what? Did you not pay attention when he got signed to YT? If that was not throwing money at making it in the US by signing #murica-rider #1 then i do not know what is. Also, Intense just redesigned their dh race bike with the help of Cesar Rojo and probably with some German engineering help to have good lay ups - that is if Cesar did not do that as well. I seriously doubt they'll throw those molds away any time soon. Intense' latest race bikes, especially the M16, did not fare all that well in...

He's the GOAT! He could probably still win on a 10 year old Iron Horse Sunday.

what t-stoff said: XT or SLX cranks, XT or XTR derailleur, XTR shifter, chain, and BB, and a Garbaruk cassette will give you the best of all worlds

I wouldn't go NX, maybe not even GX, but I understand the whole 10-50 situation and appeal, but XT has better quality, shifting solutions and durability overall. It lacks the range, indeed, but you have some options around that can give you some similar solutions (minus de 10 cog), Sunrace cassetes with 11-46 and 50, or the Garbaruk (expensive but the 300 g kind of light). I've installed 50 cog cassetes with long cage XT derailleurs but I would buy an aftermarket one. PS: don't forget to go full SRAM (k7) you have to buy a compatible XD driver hub...

You are probably right, but I do feel that all of that is highly dependent of the fact of having or not a dual crown fork. On heavy and rough braking zones, I'm not a big fan of the flex I can feel with my single crown fork. That's an example of where I'd like to have more rigidity.

Was actually thinking about it last week. When you see the lack of rigidity a simple crown fork faces and the pace pro guys are going at (and even regular guys as there is now more people only owning a enduro bike and riding it on parks and dh tracks) it would make great sense of having a double crown...

You guys have some sick workshops. Here is mine, from an other kind let’s say! Just need a proper work bench, drawers and a bit of tidy up.

Absolutely, it rips downhill. Super stable and so good at cornering. Feels really centered on the bike. And doesn’t pedal bad at all, I didn’t have to lock the rear shock yet!
