The 10mm is the minor diff here, the Sanction much longer, slacker and slower steering. The Force also has better pedalling platform, you can stand and mash the pedals on the Force and it drives well, where as the sanction would have more pedal bob. So the Force is more nimble and pedals better, the Sanction devours gravity trails.

I totally LOVE my hardtail! But, I also love my Carbine...all depends on the terrain, and/or which bike is in the shop!

Perhaps we should start at the beginning: why a hardtail? Just the other day, my Nimble 9 was resting against a fence alongside my friend's 6" full-sus über bike. I considered them a while. The fully, hewn in fibres and decked out with state of the art gear, made the Nimble 9 look positively agricultural. Every point was a juxtaposition. His bike was plastic, mine steel. His aesthetic was stealthy black, mine modelled on some sort of exotic gutter slime. His tyre choice made sense together, mine was whatever chewed out tread I'd dragged out of the shed to give...

Sick line! Definitely not one I would have ever thought of, that's for sure. Have to check it out next time, but looks pretty ballsy for sure!

Really? It is so bad to be able to use standard wheel/driver body if you want? And at a lower price? I see, I see, you said 'triggers', which means you mush shift with both hands. That must be so difficult, I know I'd lose my mind as well if I still had to use both thumbs to shift.

Review by Fred Robinson // Photos by Fred Robinson and Josh Job (action) Maxxis has been setting the standard for high-performance mountain bike tires for years with gravity benchmarks like the Minion DHF, High Roller and more recently the DHR II and High Roller II. Having been the go-to tire for numerous World Cup DH riders, even when they were supported by competing brands, the sight of a "Sharpie'd" Maxxis wasn't uncommon before the rest of the tire brands caught up. Having laid down the yardstick in DH long ago, Maxxis set out to create another benchmark with their new...
