austin-NC Added a reply to Stumpjumper EVO shock compatibility
4/20/2023 7:07am Ill put a shock pump on it when I get the chance, my shock is the older model though not the new ones I wanted to try the new one but couldn't find any stock at the time and $600 vs a slightly used one for $200 was a big factor also. I don't know why but I just couldnt...

austin-NC Added a reply to Stumpjumper EVO shock compatibility
4/20/2023 6:38am I have a 2022 Stumpy EVO and messed around with the Fox Float X with and without cascade link, could never get it to feel right. I put on the 2021 model Super Deluxe air with medium/medium tune with a MegNeg and the cascade link and it feels AMAZING, did some bracketing on a couple rides and changed some things...
austin-NC Added a comment about press release The All-New Specialized Dissident II Full Face Helmet
4/20/2023 5:58am Get the RPC! I had the first gen liquid inside one and crashed super hard enough to put some hairline cracks in the helmet and I was a little shaken up but no concussion. Bought the new MIPS version to replace it, I tried on the D4 and 100% aircraft2 and they don't even feel remotely as sturdy and safe. If you put your hands on both ends of the RPC and squeeze the shell doesn't flex one bit.

austin-NC Added a reply to Most reliable enduro build
4/14/2023 7:16am I went for this exact goal last year when I built my EVO, goal was a heavy trail bike/enduro ish build that I could ride anything from local XC trails to bike parks when I don't feel it warrants taking my DH bike. I built this bike for $3600 using a mix of new/used and take off parts I sourced...

3/14/2023 9:40am Doesn't seem like Rock Creek has nearly enough infrastructure for a National unless they change some stuff. Soggy field to park in and a hike up the gravel road to get to the shop and shuttle pick up area. Probably a few hotels in Brevard 25 min away. Either way im excited and will check it out since its about...
austin-NC Added a reply to 2023 TEAM RUMORS
1/5/2023 10:49am Totally agree as much as I love racing there is not going to be 250,000 people who see what bike the DH world champ was riding. Sam can have that many people see what bike he is riding in a single video. On big riding trips, having a few beers after riding the park all day and laughing at Sams...
austin-NC Added a reply to MTB Tech Rumors and Innovation
12/22/2022 6:15am Well it was certainly machined at some point after casting since they had to do all the bearing pockets/bottom bracket etc. Makes me think it wasnt done in house at Intense as the stuff 5dev is doing is easier than the machining that was already done on it. Lining up bores and threading BB is more difficult than just cutting...

12/22/2022 5:42am Im a process engineer at a big machine shop so I like to think Im not an idiot on this subject. This thing looks wildly expensive to make id think its some kind of casting like has been said which isn't cheap but the alternative being made out of a solid piece would be crazy expensive and I am not...
austin-NC Added a reply to Soft-topper/shuttle and short box trucks
12/22/2022 5:26am I have one on my 1500 Silverado and id say it takes up about 15" or so of bed space in the back when folded up. But its literally takes like 30 seconds to remove the whole thing and store it. The softopper is the way to go the bestop looks weird to me.
