Yeah I don't think people understand how big of a deal it is to wear competitors gear while under sponsorship contracts. My guess is Kade must have destroyed his helmet in a crash and asked to borrow Jacksons to be able to still be a Redbull helmet. I would think his team would guide him in the right direction in...
I think a big part of it too is that at Snowshoe even the people living closest are driving 2 hours into the middle of nowhere (majority are driving double or triple that) and spending a hefty amount on accommodations. People attending Snowshoe are super fans and have respect for the riders and the event. You aren't getting the random...

Give the riders two qualifying runs instead, mechanical or a crash doesn't take you out of the race as you have two runs to make it happen. Same as in motocross nobody is protected but they get two practice sessions to make a qualifying time and also learn the track, DH you have lots of practice before Qualis as well...

I can certainly see this being the case but also I feel he would of called out UCI instead of throwing a unnamed sponsor under the bus. As far as tires go no other Pirelli rider is running them in the race runs either always blacked out tires. I think it might actually be the fact he was wearing a...

Seems like this year more than ever there are some names that were on smaller deals that have really ramped up as consistent contenders this year and should be getting big pay raises or a new team if not. Kolb, Dak, Ronan all have made big steps on being consistently fast which I think is a priority for these teams...

haha that would be sick if Bill showed up though. I think he was actually at the Andorra race this year, ended up hurting his shoulder at the bike park and missing a couple races though.

I dont think Billy has ever been at Snowshoe. Stu Baylor was there the first year and it was awesome pretty sure Luca blew up his bike after the race doing burnouts. That pit party the first year will never be topped probably because it was the last round that year.

Well said, anytime I am on a lot of these sites mainly the other bike site it just feels like the industry is pushing trying to sell us shit that they say is an improvement or it just looks cool but I think people are over the bike industry trying to invent new ways to make money off of us...

Whatever Specialized is doing they need to copy them, out of their three riders they all have podiums and two have wins just this year. You have other teams struggling to get one rider into finals. I just struggle to see where the companies are seeing racing budgets translate into DH bike sales. How many people are buying a DH...

Yeah maybe regional races will grow because of it but even those are getting more out of reach for the average joe too, my local series (DH southeast) is $165 just for an entry fee. Regarding the points thing, why dont DH just have a pro license like MX does, regional and national races pay a certain amount of points...

austin-NC Added a reply to MTB Pedal Size vs. Moto Footpeg Size

Also another huge difference between moto and mtb peg requirements is its not really a big deal if your feet come off the pegs in the air on a moto you are gripping the sides and everything comes back down to where its suppose to be. MTB is a different story haha.

Ive been running this setup this year and its been awesome stumpy evo alloy with cascade link Older SDU air and new SDU coil with HBO switch out depending on the season change tires/headangle/shocks according to what I need, park season I keep the burlier setup on and deal with it during the week XC riding, winter time I keep...

I think Snowshoe would be a great enduro venue, not as big as the European mountains obviously, but using the existing fire and access roads there is probably 5 different ways to get up that mountain the western side even pops out on a paved road. There is all the bike park trails obviously but they have probably even more...
Obviously lots of variables to consider when it comes to climbing but if you simplify it like your pedaling up a paved climb. If you take the differences of the circumference of the two sizes you will technically travel roughly 4.7" further with each rotation of the wheel on a 29" tire. 27.5"---86.4" 29"----91.10

Im a huge fan of the sport and all but damn I feel like a ton of riders are complaining about everything constantly. Complaining about the tracks about the format, even some riders openly complaining about their bikes. I get that they have reasons for complaining especially with all the new changes but damn it gets kind of tiring as...

Supercross has the whole Alpinestars medical unit which is all tied in with paramedics that can attend to riders on track then transport them if needed to the on site trailer ,this is all done as one cohesive unit working together on the track and in the medical facility on site all trained and working together. The fact that DH...

yeah I certainly agree with you there and it makes sense. I mean kind of a win win for the team as long as Pirelli is okay with it. I imagine they are requiring a bit of testing from the team as well to help get the tires to eventually being world cup capable tires.

I just think its so odd that they would make Pirelli a title sponsor knowing they arent going to race on their tires, im sure they made this clear to Pirelli as well. Almost a worse look that they dont race on their tires. Different for Specialized running blacked out tires because they produce their own tires.
