12/30/2021 3:48pm Hi Greg! What are those gloves you have on?-- the tan coloured over-the-wrist ones. They look really good and I've been searching high and low for something with a little bit more coverage.

11/23/2020 4:14am Thanks. 61 feels about right for this reach and csl. I experimented with 63 to 59 on my last home build. 59 was still good, but it seemed to be diminishing returns below 61. At some point you have to make a call on how much side loading you want to put through your fork bushings. With a linkage fork i’d go a bit slacker, but they look dumb, and sometimes that matters

9/28/2020 2:59am Why do mountain bike pundits so systematically overestimate the contribution of mountain bikes to the technological knowledge of mankind? This is a case of Ohlins bringing its existing suspension technologies - already thoroughly researched in MX motorcycling and elsewhere - to the mountain biking world. Specialized is little more than a show pony in all this. The partnership here is the common commercial one of using each other for the (i.e. their own) greater good. The partnership also appears to be a sweetheart deal, otherwise why would it we wrapped in this silly pretense that Specialized understands Ohlins technologies as...

9/3/2020 1:26am I dunno... I'm immediately skeptical of any new thing where the manufacturer uses the term "game changer" in their product promos to describe their product. Has this been tested on different types of suspension designs? VPP? High Pivot? DW-Link?

9/3/2020 1:26am Totally did not understand what I explained, but okay. You can name drop racer names all you want, but racing is a small fraction of the mountain bike community. Their job is to endorse products that they generally get for free. That doesn't mean it will become a "standard on any good mountain bike" OEM spec feature, and that doesn't mean the majority of mountain biking will actually buy it. I hope that it doesn't take years for you to understand that. Good luck though, and stay safe.

7/28/2020 10:06am The statement "efficiency is 100%" is a bit misleading. Sure, you may not have measurable energy loss through your device, but that doesn't mean that a rider will put as much power to the rear wheel with your device as they would without it. It's kind of like walking up stairs with springs on your feet (or replacing your chain with a stiff elastic band). That said, depending on the stiffness of your elastomer and the amount of travel that it has, I see this as being a reasonable trade-off on the climbs and strictly positive on the descents.

7/28/2020 10:05am Aren't some suspension systems designed with pedal kickback in mind and actually use it as part of the suspension action / curve?
