I sure did, hence the “as already mentioned” part of my sentence there 😉
They're going to want to cut costs if they do a waiting period. One of the biggest things is running a leaner production and not having a full broadcast truck.
I mean there's already rumors RB is out after this, regardless of any validity behind it. I think they one thing they aren't trying to do is spend more and more. Just my crystal ball there.
Also when I say don't do a live show. I literally mean cut a show to premier immediately after the event. And some other things I can't mention. But basically cut out all the fluff. It's entirely possible every rider could have gotten their first run in if you simply stop with all the interludes, as well as all pre-show. Even with Storch's unfortunate helivac.
I'm not quite hitting on the functional difference between live show and event recap premiering an hour or two after the event.
Peak of Rampage for me was Kelly McGarrys backflip over the canyon .
Since then only Silvas attempted double backflip is the only thing that's really stood out as a move that's separated itself from the rest and that had pretty tragic consequences.
Hardline Wales needed to be changed and the organisers have done that .
Rampage needs to be drastically changed or scrapped altogether
Rampage may just have to die. It had a sick run, and it's upside is obviously incredibly rad, but the downsides are insane. Judging by the features the boys built and the mad sends we saw in the limited runs, had it proceeded, there's a really good chance that we would have seen another year marred by life-changing injuries.
Again, it's had a good run, and it's really cool to see the progression over the years, but if this is Redbull Rampage's Group B Rally Car moment, it might be for the best.
Nothing lasts forever, and they've miraculously made it this far without broadcasting a young man's death to millions of viewers. If they keep going, though, someone is falling off a giant cliff. It might be time to just take the dub and put the whole thing to rest.

That last part is all I could think about when I first saw Lamoine's gap. He made the gap and still had a slam. Someone's going to land something a little far back, not be able to grab brakes, and just toss it all off a cliff...or overshoot something and not be able to get settled in time and only stop 90 feet below on the desert floor.
Rampage is SO sick but it might be worth re-evaluating for a couple years and re-approach it with an effort toward life preservation. At World Cup races, it seems like the limited practice time prevents the racers from really dialing up the intensity that could come with a little more practice at nailing their lines. I wonder if fewer build days, a limit of build time per feature, and/or a maximum number of hits including some predetermined Red Bull Finish Booter could make it safer by dialing back how crazy they could get with their builds.
cutting the build time will probably help tame it down. but how about venue reuse. Just from practicallity/historically we will see the same venue next year with a lot of features already in place with just a bit of tidying up needed.
Maybe going forward we would then see a bit of a multiyear cycle where each year more stuff is added. Year 1 is more raw/freeride, by year 3 it becomes more slopestyle, then move venues and start again.
Update from Natasha Bradley too...she didn't get away unscathed but all told, we're happy she's feeling OK enough to post about it and already looking forward to recovery. Heal up!

In my opinion they just need to remove the sandbags and the event would be perfect mix of natural and few builds they can make in that time.
Here's the full update from Carson...we were so relieved to hear he was all OK after such a gnarly moment!

What's the injury toll this year? Something like 15% got sent to the hospital, and they didn't even make it through the first men's runs.
