Additional Info

I'm Antoine Taillefer host of the En Roue Libre Podcast, and in this post, I'm excited to share my journey of creating a custom dirt jump bike, crafted alongside French frame builder Pierre Gouret from the brand Opozit.

The idea for this project was sparked by my return to dirt jumping after several years away.
After rediscovering my passion at the local spot, I quickly realized my old bike no longer met my current needs.

Inspired by the concept of building a unique bike, I decided to collaborate with Pierre Gouret, a French frame builder whose Roublard frame immediately caught my eye due to its compact and radical style.
Made of steel, this frame offers the comfort and durability I was seeking, perfectly designed for dirt jumping, a bit of pump track, and occasional BMX track riding.

To complete the build, I selected premium components, teaming up notably with Stéphane Guillaume from SR Suntour for a customized Durolux Enduro fork, Laurent Le Corre from Hope France for color-matched components, and Thomas Manfé from Vee Tire for BMX race-derived tires that excel on pump tracks.

The full build was done in just three weeks, including design, manufacturing, painting, and complete assembly—an exceptional timing for a fully personalized hand buit bike.

My feedback after 2 months of riding the bike

After two months of riding this bike, the results have greatly exceeded my expectations.
Not only have I regained my previous riding level, but I have also rediscovered profound motivation to progress and ride more frequently.
This beautiful bike has truly given me back my mojo.

This experience highlights the value of a custom or handmade bike, which can significantly transform your riding experience and overall cycling enjoyment.

While major brands do incredible work for the general public, frame builders like Pierre provide the opportunity to achieve specific geometry tailored precisely to your personal needs.

Thanks
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Pierre Gouret of Opozit, Laurent from Hope France, Stéphane from SR Suntour, and Thomas from Vee Tire for their support and trust in this unique project.
