stoked that you pulled this into its own thread!!!
Hear me out, trek has been having so many problems with broken supercal seat stays that they gave up the original iso strut concept and licensed it to specialized
No Brain!
It also looks like a revised Reverb (the battery enclosure looks different, as does the control), and the brake levers that were previously popping up in patent diagrams (i.e. the ones that work well with headset cable routing).
Also, f**king headset cable routing.
Spesh may have f*n headset routing, but the new supercaliber that was in the video during Vlad Dascalu's bike check did not...Kudos to trek
I'm pretty sure that's just the current generation Supercaliber in that segment. They show them all riding those bikes earlier in the video, they just don't pan down so you can't see the new SRAM groupsets.
I could be completely wrong, but it does seem like they wouldn't be testing and riding Supercalibers with new kits on them if the new blurred out bike in the video was just going to be an updated Supercaliber. I'd assume if they would be racing the Supercaliber plus whatever the new bike is in that case.
It's clear they're going to have an updated Super Caliber (or they wouldn't be talking about how they love riding it) and the new 100 or 120mm more traditional bike.
It may not be the most competitive race bike but the supercal was the most fun I’ve had on an xc bike in sometime. Having a bike properly designed to go fully rigid to just the right amount of squish is an absolute blast on the right trails.
I went from an epic evo to a supercaliber and it was an awesome decision, the supercaliber is a fun bike and I was rarely held back by the travel or geometry. the only problem is I had to replace the seat stays because they started to crack!
It's a standard AXS Reverb. Nothing different on the mast or the battery.
There has been a new Reverb out there in plain sight at races though. Rockshox managed to sneak the new SID in last season without anyone noticing
Speaking of the SID, looking at the crown, seems like the Specialized Factory is running the new model all nice and custom painted and not drawing any attention.
