The return of the Downieville Classic comprises the Festival, Cross Country race, and legendary All Mountain World Championships, including the Downieville Downhill. The Festival was rated as one of the top 10 mountain bike festivals in the world by Outside Magazine and includes time-honored Downieville traditions such as the log pull, river jump, and live music and dancing. The Cross Country race is one of the last remaining point-to-point XC races on the race calendar, starting in downtown Sierra City and finishing on the Main Street of Downieville. The All Mountain starts with the XC race on Saturday, which racers must complete in under three hours. On Sunday, they descend over 5,000 feet from Packer Saddle to Downieville on the fabled Downieville Downhill course. This year, the Classic is also the last stop of the new Singletrack Series of four XC mountain bike races.
