I'll bet its pretty tough to actually go OTB on that thing, but damn it would straight launch her!

Yeah, we've never been fully OTB. The closest we've come is to go up on the nose then fall over sideways. Doing that destroyed the front wheel as well.
The tandem equivalent of going OTB is a really solid bottom bracket impact that completely stops the bike. The bike stops but both the riders carry on forwards and often go over their respective handlebars.

My first ever DH race was the Leaping Lizard in Laguna back around '96. There was a couple there, a designer at GT and his wife, who raced on a DH tandem. It had an early DHO with rumored 800 lb. springs in it. They actually had a piece of rope tied around the lower triple clamp and the fork arch to keep the lowers on in case the cir-clips holding things together blew out. And they were scary fast on that thing.
