You win it by picking the gnarliest lines, block-passing when you can, out-burning everybody else with your legs on the climbs, and ruthlessly mowing down rude French course marshals when the opportunity presents itself. 4/4 for Jamie Nicoll and UR Team!

I mean...things like this happen sometimes...doubt he's run anyone over on purpose...but that guy fell over like a log!!!

if it really is the spirit of this race to do stuff like he was doing...then cheers...cos that was some hardcore riding. hell yeah!!!

what's with this guy and riding over people? wasn't he also doing it at megavalanche? plus...the only reason he crashed into that marshall (who are usually volunteers) is cos he was cutting the course, right? not too cool if the case.

I'm not a racer of any sort - but is cutting off fellow racers in corners like this considered okay since it's a race, or poor form?

Cutting people off in corners is by no means poor form. You're in a race and if someone is in front of you and slowing you down, you have every right to pass them. However running into course marshals because you're cutting the clearly marked course heavily is pretty weak. I'll never get people who defeat the purpose of a race by not racing the actual trail. A course that long cannot be fully taped off and I may be a puss by saying this but it completely ruins the spirit of the race. You're not proving anything by doing that. However, there were some amazingly sneaky and awesome lines early one and what Fabien did to pass that dude. Those lines are awesome.
