I have bought SKF wipers for my fox 40, but I have'nt gottent to test them yet. I believe SKF already makes a bunch of OEM dust wipers for fox, RS and ohlins already. I would'nt replace the ones you have with another unless its worn and you have to replace them anyways. The biggest difference I've felt is using slick honey to regrease the wipers during a lowers service. The standard fox are expensive anyways so I thought that I might as well go for SKF.

In my option racing bros! They are almost frictionless, I had them put into my boxxers and went in and watched my service happen (I know the owner) before the seals were replaced even thou the bushing were resized and same greases were used they inserted then stanchion and let go of it and it went down got stuck then needed a helping hand went down stopped, as soon as they replaced the original seals for Racing Bros ones, they did the same test and the stanchion slid all the way into the fork quite fast but not to fast and was a constant speed the whole way!

I mean it's $30 for a Fox dust wiper / foam ring kit, so for only $6 more I'd try it if you intended on switching seals anyway.

I’ve just had my almost new Fox 36’s “serviced” and fitted with those seals.
Hard to say if it was the bushing resize/attention to detail/ or the racing bros seals - but a nice improvement.

What are you talking about when you say bushing resized? is there something special you have to do when you use RacingBros seals?? how are you liking those seals now that you've been on them for some time?? Is there stilll a noticeable improvement??

Hi,
My understanding is: “Bushing resized” = “Fine tuning” of bushes. EG if bushing clearance is too little - the forks would be tight/restricted in movement. Clearance too much - “free play” and possible jamming. We are talking potentially no, or small improvement depending on how close the factory got it.

Another thing I believe they do, is ensure the correct amount of high quality grease, and damping oil is installed.

Mass production V Hand assembly

So as part of the “high performance service” - they check, and adjust if required, the “tightness” of the bushes.
This is not required to fit the low friction seals. The low friction seals are a seperate potential improvement.

I’m still happy with the improvement the service, including the low friction seals, brought about. (On my almost new forks)
I’m a bit “fussy”, but feel the process was definitely “worth it”. Less “stiction”, and smoother movement = less harsh feeling.

a new for needs to be opened up, slickhonwy on the seals and shafts, and new oil in the lowers.. "i hate rockshows, never felt good" ; " I didnt like my XXX, felt horrible", these are many times first impressions on a new fork that was cooked from factory, no oil, dry as a bone.. cheers..
