westeegarden Added a reply to 2020 Bike Park Openings

If I were a bike park, I would try and do an enduro ride up the mountain yourself kind of deal and not run the lifts at all. That way you don't have to pay for running the lifts and social distancing will still be maintained, not having everyone sitting in the same seats and all. Not Ideal for the...

I think they think it's not worth the $200 or so to get one. We are all in high school, so we don't make a lot of money (especially now), and I guess they'd rather spend their money on something else, as I think some of them aren't quite as into biking as I am. 95% of the money I...

Glad to hear. Tell my friends that. I try to convince them that a dropper will transform their ride, but they won't have it. Until I take them down the rowdiest trails in the area, that is, then they see that the near OTB situations might actually be avoidable via a post that "just goes up and down".
Yeah... not entirely sure why anyone who didn't race professionally would spend more than $4k on a road bike. I suppose one could say the same thing about mountain bikes, but it's more obvious why thousands of dollars should be spent. I have personally ridden a 14 lb. road bike, and yeah sure it's nice on the uphills, but if...

If I were you I would just get an external one. I agree with that they can look sloppy, but if you get one that connects at the base as oppose to the seat it looks better. The reason I say this is if for some reason it all goes to hell and you develop a crack or something, your...
Just by taking a quick look at both bikes, if the Kona is spec'd better, it's by a small amount. The fork on the Kona is virtually the same as is on the Trek. I don't know much at all about that level fork and the different models, but just about all bikes/forks at this price point are going to...

Look at the pinkbike field trip. In a series of videos they reviewed 8 budget bikes around your price range. The Vitus was praised, as well as a Commencal Meta and a YT Jeffsy of some sort. For sure check that out. I think it will be helpful.
Downhill racing at the WC level has gotten to a point where to even be close to the best, you needed to have been riding/racing downhill quite frequently since you were a very small child, something that requires basically living next to a bike park. It's such a narrow and direct route, that if you weren't winning international races at...

people have said it, but for real get a dropper post. you can get a post and lever for $200 total. PNW and Oneup both make great affordable ones. It's incredible the difference a dropper makes if you actually use it. Second, and with less priority, a fork. That will be more like $500 to make it really worth it...
It calls for 20wt oil on the website, so it should be about 20 pounds on the scale Smile I'm in no hurry to service it so when I do I'll probably drain the oil, see if I can pull the lowers off, give the lowers, stanchion and maybe air spring a cleaning, switch out dust wipers / foam rings...
I would too. When I go to ridefox.com and make my way to a page that's titled "all service procedures" there are two columns, fox products and marzocchi products. All they have up for marzocchi are two manuals on remote installation and one on how to convert a Z1 air to coil (There's a Bomber cr rebuild manual, but it's...

westeegarden Started a new thread Servicing Marzocchi Bomber Z2 / Rail damper

4/17/2020 7:33am
It's my understanding that because of the open-bath rail damper in the Marzocchi Bomber Z2, servicing it will be a different process than servicing regular Fox/Marzocchi forks. I'm familiar with servicing those "normal" damper clad forks, but I'm wondering if since the rebound assembly is completely separate from the compression assembly, and and the stanchion basically is the damper casing...
