So, yeah, it starts in 4 days! We have been up here with a 5-man trailbuilding crew working on the trails and DS track for the past week. Things are looking good, we are using the same 2 DH tracks as last year, but both have been polished from top to bottom. A couple trees removed from the Pro track rock garden should open up a better line at the entrance so people can go faster. The combined finish for both downhill tracks is different, there is a nice stepdown followed by an off-camber grass run to the finish line. No uphill sprint this year. The DS track is getting some major changes- more berms and its going to be a little bit longer.

The entire Dirt Passion crew will be out there photoging for race reports and filming for a short edit sponsored by the resort to be released a few weeks after the event. You can read about it here: http://www.vitalmtb.com/community/Dirt-Passion,16620/blog/06/26/2012/en…

We will see you out there. Can't wait! Stoked.

F yeah eagles in wayfarers. Stoked for National Champs...hope it's well-attended. Seems like DH racing is taking a hit in attendance (at least in the rockies and out west). Vital will have action from Matthew Delorme, so stay tuned. Motomike, post up some pics of your course updates! Would love to see 'em

To anyone who knows. What are the track conditions looking like? Are we talking DHF or Wet Scream conditions? Looking at the weather full mud boots sounds like a good idea, but having been there I know it can go either way.

What bturman said.... by the look of the radar and the noise outside (even though I am south of that area), you better bring both.

The tracks are fine right now. The Pro/Cat1 track is soft but dry dirt (hero dirt anyone?), so cut spikes might be fun. The Cat2/3 track is super hardpack, something like a Minion or Butcher would be ideal for that one.
