Kelly had this endless, never-healing zombie elbow that he kept tearing open, over and over again. It looked like a road rashed ballsack with a pastrami skin-graft. I asked Kelly why he didn't wear an elbow pad on it, and he told me, "Charlie, there are two types of people who wear elbow pads: smart people and pussies. And I'm neither."

USAC is dumb. The other USAC that of cars tried this back before the '79 Indy 500. Back then that USAC was so lame the car owners broke away and started CART. Anyway that USAC tried to ban all teams involved with CART from entering the 500. The teams took them to court siting anti trust laws and restraint of trade and an injunction was issued. Basically, what that means is USACycling cannot legally keep you from racing other events at the professional level under US law anyways.

7/18/2012 9:41am To anyone who knows. What are the track conditions looking like? Are we talking DHF or Wet Scream conditions? Looking at the weather full mud boots sounds like a good idea, but having been there I know it can go either way.
