Skills clinics at the Ranch 10am-4pm
Kona Pumptrack Duels!! 5pm
This year we will have three clinics at the Ranch and they are available for riders from an intermediate to advanced riding level. Do not miss a great opportunity to improve your riding skills with the help of some very talented riders in a private environment! Sign up now as space is limited. http://www.BikeReg.com/...er.asp?eventid=10595
Clinic #1.....11am-4pm
With...Lee McCormack. a leading expert on bike riding skills. He wrote the books Mastering Mountain Bike Skills and Pro BMX Skills and teaches riders of all styles and levels. His site, www.leelikesbikes.com is visited by more than 30,000 riders monthly.
What you’ll learn
We’ll start with core skills — position, braking, cornering, pump, etc. — then apply them on The Ranch’s awesome terrain. Dual slalom, pump track, jumps … the Ranch has it all. You will improve your balance, control and confidence (and speed!) in all riding situations.
No matter how good you are on a bike, you will learn a lot. You will rip. You will be stoked!!!
You don’t have to participate in the Ranchstyle to sign up for the clinic. Come on out, learn some stuff, ride fun terrain and watch the pros rip.
Rough schedule
11am to 2 pm - Skills and drills. Answer your questions. Get you dialed.
[lunch break]
2:30am -4pm - Apply the skills on Ranch terrain. Slalom, pump track, jumps, it’s all there.
Clinic #2....11am-4pm (Just for the ladies)
With...Tammy Donahugh, factory rider for Superco bikes. Tammy is well known in the world of womens mountain biking and recently appeared in the Women of Dirt a mountain bike film featuring the best female riders in the industry today. (We will be showing this movie with two others on Saturday night)
This clinic is a great opportunity for women looking to take their skills to the next level while learning in a private environment just for you!!
Clinic #3....12pm-4pm
With...Mike Metzger and Casey Groves of Transition Bike Co. This bro down clinic will give you the opportunity to ride with a couple of the hardest shredding (and nicest) guys you will meet. If you are looking to learn some tricks, up your game, or just ride and have fun with these guys, the entire Ranch will be at your disposal. With seven trails littered with jumps, drops and berms it will give riders a chance to farm some serious flow.
Kona Pump track duels race- new to the line up. This will be a super fun, low key race. Lots of prizes and lots of fun-open to riders of all abilities. This is a great chance to get the feel of racing in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Calling all locals on this one!! Come up after work and play in the dirt at the Ranch!!!
April 24
...MRP Super Dual Slalom 8am-4pm
...Cove Bikes Skinny stunt comp 5pm
...3 Movie Premieres at the Ranch after the days events (see the front page for trailers)
MRP Super Slalom-Winding around hay bales and red flags can be fun....However, if bombing through cedars on loose red dirt, rubbing elbows in the air, and pinning corners near a 30ft cliff sounds a little more your style you are going to love this course!
In 2009 the Grassroots crew added dual slalom to the Ranchstyle line up. To say that it was well received would be an uderstatement. Pros were throwing out times in the mid 40 second range with Dieder Barrick taking the win in the inaugural event. All weekend riders were overheard saying it was one of the best courses they had ever ridden.
If you didnt make it out to watch or to race DON'T MISS IT THIS YEAR!!!
Cove Bikes Skinny stunt comp 5pmThis is going to be a super fun time for all, a good wind down from a hard day of racing. Come take your crack at the "Dirty Sanchez" the 100' long wood bridge. Cash and prizes could be yours.
Movie Premiers once the darkness falls. See the front page for all the trailers.
April 25th Slopestyle
This is the event that puts the "style" in Ranchstyle!
In a short time the Grassroots Cycles Ranchstyle has become one of the biggest little events in the country. Being one of only a handfull of venues in the country to offer Slopestyle competition, Ranchstyle has become the kickoff event to the Slopestyle season. With respectable cash payouts the event has drawn the attention of some of the industry's premiere slopestyle athletes. In 2009 Casey Groves (Transition/Pinkbike) threw down and took home first place honors with Andrew Taylor (Marin) in second and Tyler McCaul (G.T.) in third as well as winning best trick with a huge tail whip over the 40 footer.
-Pro and amateur classes for men and women
-Run in a "Jam" format. This open format keeps the intensity high as riders rail the course at will for the alloted time period.
-Competition is judged by the riders themselves with a few votes coming from select industry judges. Food, drink, and festivities all day and into the eve!! Camping is available for athletes, their family, and industry sponsors.
Flyer coming soon!
