The new Wolf Tooth Locked-In Bar Ends provide more control with less fatigue for gravity riding. By providing a strong point of leverage at the ends of handlebars, riders are able to use the sides of their hands to push against the bar ends to maneuver the bike. This allows for a lighter grip on the bars, which reduces arm pump and fatigue. The Locked-In Bar Ends were co-developed with Wolf Tooth and Joe Breeden.

The bar ends have a firm outboard flange with an ergonomic design that naturally aligns with the shape of the rider’s hand. The ergonomic profile of the final product is the result of years of iterations to perfect the design, in terms of shape and material. Joe Breeden reached out to Wolf Tooth to get this project across the finish line and bring it into production.

A high-durometer rubber was selected as the material for these bar ends. The rubber is firm and strong to allow the rider to control the movement of the bike. Another benefit is that the shape extends forward to shield hands from tree strikes. The outer edges shrug off obstacles rather than catching on them. The design and material are also a game-changer for e-bikes, where the bikes are much heavier than pedal bikes and require more force to turn at high speeds.

Locked-In Bar Ends are compatible with most carbon and aluminum handlebars with an 18mm or wider internal diameter. Installation requires grips with open ends so the bar end can be inserted into the end of the bar. A punch is available (and sold separately) to assist in converting grips with closed ends to grips with open ends.

Lay off my squarewaves!  

I just put some calipers on the area of the grip that sits inside the end clamps.  Identical on both sides of the grip.  In fact, I'll flip mine to get more life out of them.  I can't see any reason that I couldn't take the inboard clamps from some old grips and run two inboard clamps on each grip and these Wolftooth bar ends.  

In fact, that almost seems safer than knocking the end out of a grip with a single, inboard clamp.  Seems like it would let the tapered sleeve at the outboard end of the grip expand more and not hold the bar as well.

Am I missing something?

EDIT: hit me later that my hand won't be far enough towards the outer edge of the grip for the to do any good.  Likely a similar problem with any grip with a palm pad like the new Goldstone.

Now I only have to wait till it's available in the EU market to not pay crazy shipping fee on top of already not cheap bar ends. Hopefully it won't take that long.
