Press Release

Intend Launches the Trinity 2.0 4

New color, updated features, and hopefully better availability ahead!

The Intend Trinity has been on the market for around two years. Over this time, online shop availability has steadily decreased, with a record-breaking 100 brakes sold in just two minutes. While this is a reason to celebrate, it has also led to frustration for many customers who were unable to secure a set. However, the continuous focus on increasing production output is now showing results. For the first time in two years, availability has increased, meaning it will likely become easier for customers to purchase a pair of brakes through the webshop in the future. This focus on production has also given Intend the opportunity to refine the brake, introduce updates, and expand the range. As a result, the Trinity 2.0 comes with a facelift, a few upgrades, and a new color option.

Longer Front Hose

To proactively provide the ideal front hose length, we have so far shipped the front brake pre-filled with 85 cm of hose—suitable for 96.76% of customers. Those needing a longer hose could request it free of charge at the time of purchase. However, of the 3.24% of customers who require a longer hose, very few actually make this request, leading to occasional frustration. To make sure all customers receive the ideal hose length, we now ship a standard, unfilled 100 cm hose—to allow for each customer to have their individual desired cable length.

Titanium Bolts: A Premium Upgrade at No Extra Cost

As a counterbalance, the brake will now come equipped with black titanium bolts instead of the previous stainless steel ones—at no additional cost. This not only enhances the overall appearance but also reduces weight slightly. A win-win situation for both customers and Intend, and a win-win-win for those who needed a longer hose.

More Is More

The refrigerators on the caliper are getting bigger. More cooling means better performance, and the caliper with the refrigerator now has a slightly more robust appearance. Not much more to say about that.

Painless Fitting: Added Security in Extreme Cases

Introducing the new Painless Sleeve. While the standard fitting has proven reliable in normal use, a few extreme crash scenarios—where the front wheel folded and rotated 360°—led to the hose being pulled from the fitting. To improve crash resistance, all Trinity EN & DH brakes will now come with the new Painless Fitting and Painless Sleeve. The sleeve is removable for installation and maintenance, while the core concept of the Painless Fitting remains fully intact.

Should I be concerned if I don’t use the Painless Sleeve?
No. The average force on the fitting during use is around 5-10N (0.5-1kg), while the maximum tolerable force is 200N (20kg). Under normal conditions, it is impossible for the hose to detach. The Painless Sleeve is purely an added safeguard for extreme crash scenarios.

Upgrades

For those who want to upgrade their Trinity brakes, all individual parts are available separately. Titanium bolt kits, refrigerators, and Painless Sleeves can all be purchased as upgrade kits. Each kit includes the necessary parts for both the front and rear brake.

NEXT BATCH (SILVER) - April 4, 15h00 Berlin Time

The first official batch of the Trinity 2.0 will be exclusively silver. This silver color variant is not a limited edition but will now be a permanent part of the lineup. For future batches, Intend will most likely only do one color per batch. Thanks to the increased production output, the frequency of these batches is going to be increased.
