My local Long Island trails are mostly XC single track with minimal elevation, rarely any rocks or roots (some trials have more of this, which I prefer)
Terrain is mostly hard pack, but a lot of sand/loose over hard and sandy corners with some pebble mixed in
My local trail bike is a 5010CC V3 with a top spec build, Fox, XTR, I9 wheels(i27), etc. Love the 27.5/27.5 as I come from a BMX and DH background and just love having fun on trails vs killing Strava times
I’m currently running DHRII 3C MT 2.3 and Minion SS DC 2.3, but I’m just not jiving with the Minion SS and these tires are a bit small for all of the sand we have here
Does the Dissector have that same vague feeling that the DHF can have when you transition over? On my larger bike, a Bronson CC I’ve ran the typical DHF/DHR2 and just never loved the DHF, that vague middle ground just doesn’t seem to work on NY/NJ/CT trails
So, Dissector/Rekon vs XR4/XR4, thoughts?
How would the rolling resistance compare? Overall levels or grip?
I had my eye on the new Forekaster V2, but for the life of me I can not find it in 27.5x2.4
keep trying to find the forekaster... its such a good tyre.

I did not like the dissector as a front tire- bad on/off feeling as you roll onto the cornering knobs. I crashed because of it
The XR4 Team edition is my favorite front light trail tire.
However my terrain is much rougher than yours and as such I'd recommend the Ibex Onza for you. That's insanely fast front tire with pretty darn good traction on the sort of dirt you describe. It rolls as fast as a XC tire with just a bit less traction (when fresh) then something more trail oriented.
For the rear, I'd go Conti X-king 2.3 or Vittoria Mezcal.
The thing about terrain like yours, is that going really fast makes it more fun, even sliding around a bit adds to the excitement.

It almost doesn't matter how the Dissector performs- it wears out so incredibly quickly (even faster than my Kenda Pinners). Maybe it was a first-batch issue, but after half a season last summer I was ripping off side lugs all over the place. I ran it as a rear, and I didn't feel the same lack of grip that a DHF can feel when you lean it over halfway.
