Dan from Burgtec has just posted his Hot or Not from South Africa- check it out here:

Agree? Disagree?

I'd like to add Hot for Richie Rude for doing so well at his first world cup!

I think he had most of that pretty well pegged. I was expecting more "NOTS" and a few more mentions of the women like Tracy and Jill. I was surprised he didn't riff on a few other guys, namely some big contenders who finished outside of the Top10. But, better to bring the positives to the table and let the jabs be funny-ish and not mean.

He rated the top 10 finishers as hot... imagine that.

I disagree with his NOT for Sam Hill.... 11th is pretty darn good after tearing your shoulder apart and sitting out for the better part of two seasons. When you look at the split times, Sam was 4th on the top section ( the most steep/techy ) of the track. He lost most of his time on the pedal section, and was on flats. From the pedal to the finish, times were even tighter, and Sam was within .7 of Gwin's time, along with about 12 other dudes. Watching the recent vids it seems like his tech skills are pinned and that he is motivated and happy to be racing again.... all positives from where I'm sitting.

just my $.02

I disagree with the sam hill and knee pad comment

For all the Hill out-of-shape bashing that took place I think his finish was outstanding. He was out longer than BF and out performed some of the pedal strong big dawgs.

Secondly, nobody dogged the knee pad-less racers in AUS 09 champs. Racing is Strategic- one must do whatever they believe is needed to win. Power to him for having confidence on keeping it on 2 wheels.

Peace

Some of them are repeats but here is my Hot or Not.

Hot:
Brosnan's and Hill's first splits.
Bryn's first split.
Neko with a top 15.
Cousinie for his moto stem and beating a lot of big guys.
Rude with a 2nd in Jr. and a 31st.
Tight racing should make for a good Worlds next year.
Fergus Lamb for having the best name.

Not:
Hart's and Blinki's chance at the overall.
Peat and Bryceland.
Eliot Jackson and Connor Fearon... Expected more, maybe they had problems.
Only a 120 something riders trying to qualify.
The big time drop off in the women's field.
