Yo everyone!
The Dirty Shocks crew here to hopefully begin a thread of hardtail content sharing!! Full suspension bikes conquer obsticles with ease but those with the cajones to take a hardtail where it potentially shouldnt go deserve a little slice of the pie XD

Please everyone share your pics and vids!!

Check out Dirty Shocks (still in its humble beginnings smile ) on YouTube!

Going to 1by has been one of the better choices I've made. So much less faff with gears, easier to clean. It's a little tougher on longer rides, but I'd not go back. A wide range cassette does help a little. Maybe when I'm rich and famous (never), I'll upgrade to 11 speed!

Hi.
I own a Framed Marquette Carbon 27.5 plus bike. It's a Sram GX 1x11drivetrain bike with a Reba fork.

Upgrades from stock:
Carbon i45 wheelset (Brand is same as bike mfg)
27.5x3 Terrene Chunk(f) and 27.5x2.8McFly(r) tires setup tubeless. I originally had a Chunk on the rear too but it was too much tire for anything other than extremely rough terrain.
Kalloy Uno 60mm stem
Answer Pro Taper SL 750 carbon bar
XT brakes
Ashima Ai2 180/160 rotors
Reba converted to 120mm (done after pic)
Wellgo MG-5 pedals
AB oval DM 32t Chainring

Bike weighs in at 24.5lbs (11.1kg). Current geo has the BB height right at 300mm and HTA of 67°. The 445 chainstays work great since I'm 6'1" and the bike has a wb of 1145mm.

I like technical sections and rock gardens. Huge rocks and roots are what I enjoy clearing the most. It's not quite ready for huge or fast downhill sections but I have taken it on those trails without a hitch. It prolly wouldn't last long taking that kind of beating though.

Thanks! Obviously I’m pretty proud of it. ?

It’s actually a medium. They build their frames on the larger side so most folks end up getting a size down from normal. It rocks!

I went from a humble On One 456 to a Ragley Bagger 288 and finally a brazed full custom Swarf in almost exactly three years.

The Swarf won a poll for sexiest hardtail of the year back in 2016. I also sort of ruined it slightly by running super heavy tyres and just one gear. Right now there is a WTB Convict in the front and a Vigilante in the back, both the heavy ones with soft rubber. But it's just so grippy and silent going downhill...
