If you did replace both olive and barb then can you describe exactly where the leak is coming from? Photos would help, as would more info on the type of brake and maybe some info on how you bled the system. Is the leak between the lever body and hose interface? Is it at the bleed port on the lever? Does the lever have a cap with a seal around it (like hope does)?
I do a standard bleed by pushing new fluid in from the Caliper and the old fluid will come out of the bleed port on the lever into a syringe.
But If so, total and thorough reflush, Mineral Oil Only!
You can run mineral oil against DOT seals but not the other way around.
I've never tried human blood to replace magura blood as I think it would boil too low, the smell would be heavenly though.
If you did use DOT fluid, which damaged the seals in the lever (Master Cylinder), then the seals in the calliper might be affected.
I have more experience with motorcycles. The size of the piston affects the “feel”.
If the lever is designed for a 2 piston calliper, it might have a lot of lever movement with a 4 piston calliper - for EG.
If it was me, I’d consider shopping around for a complete XT 2 piston set up.
I’ve spent hours and hours trying to get brakes working to my satisfaction - then found a pre bled complete set up very reasonably priced on the net - bolt it on - perfect (Sometimes, you have to shorten the line - look for instructions online)
