The whistler.com website (toursim site for the town), has Crankworx 2023 listed for July 21-30. This is the earliest it's been in recent memory (or ever? it's usually held in mid August).

Looking at the UCI schedule, there are no world cups or EWS races listed in July. maybe this fills in the whistler TBC event on that schedule?

This year seemed pretty good wildfire wise but overall the last 5-6 years it seems like August/September in the PNW has been a hellscape of smoke. Maybe they are trying to avoid having that happen again. You could have the best event ever but if there's thick smoke it just completely sucks for everybody there.

Would be cool if they can get the 1199 DH track built for next July and run a Crankworx DH race down it as a test event to prove it out for hopefully a WCDH in the future!
