Perhaps it would be a bike similar priced but rides terrible instead of brilliant?

I hear you! But the car analogy still works IMO. Like you could spend 60k on a base model macan with almost no features, it’s slow, pretty though. My father who recently retired and bought one. I’ll take my Ford Explorer ST any day over a base macan. Cheaper, faster, more features. Still has lots of recalls though, it’s definitely a ford… There are tons of other brands that are faster and have way more features than the base porches. They aren’t all 911s that are way way more expensive.

I just re read this. That’s a great idea. Like a PB budget vs baller, but done right? Like a good bike with reasonable components vs a top shelf bike with ridiculous ones in timed laps, and durability. Something That would be rad. Although I still think people would buy the expensive ones haha.

Oh if I were racing enduro this would definitely be one of the front running bikes that I would want to try. Although enduro doesn’t pay shit unless your a top 10. But I think I understand your point a little bit better. You think because yeti is a race brand that this bike needs to be quantifiably faster than other brands to justify the price? I don’t think that’s the only market reason that these exist and sell well. Porsche makes fast cars, but that’s not what most people want when they buy them. They also do ride better...

Take it with a grain of salt! I would be all for cheaper yetis though.

I see the appeal to yetis. 5k is a lot for a frame, and I want companies to keep prices down as much as the next guy, but honestly even 10k isn’t that much money for me to blow on a bike. I’m not for one minute suggesting that this particular bike is worth or not worth the price, but I know plenty of people these days with 10k plus bikes(often they have a few). Yeti is making these bike for those people. Having ridden a status and an Sb150, I would buy the yeti… All that being said one...

Stumpy Evo is not an enduro bike though. Very capable trail bike(all mountain even). That said DH bike are amazing.

Hmm, I would rather the pant fit well, but I wouldn’t hate both.
