Zerode Bikes Announce European Distribution 6

With distribution established in the Netherlands, Zerode aims to deliver bikes direct to consumers in Europe without shipping delays and added taxes.

Zerode Bikes has taken a big step in their plan to shift the mountain biking world to gearbox drive trains. Coming off the back of making inroads in the United States and Canada, the team at Zerode are keen to make their gearbox enduro and trail riding platforms easier for Europeans to get their hands on.

Hugo Wals, head of European distribution for Zerode Bikes based in Heerlen, Netherlands, is anticipating steady growth in the European market where competing against dominant brands will be balanced out with the compelling argument made for internal gearbox systems. ‘’We know that getting cut-through in Europe is a big task, but we’re here for the long-haul and given the success of strong sales and thousands of happy riders in other parts of the world, we know that European riders will see the respond well to the obvious benefits of reduced unsprung mass, higher durability, and greatly reduced maintenance and repair, leading to a much lower  lifetime ownership cost.

With distribution established in the Netherlands, Zerode aims to deliver bikes direct to consumers in Europe without the shipping delays and added taxes. ‘’We’ll be able to fulfill orders in super fast time and ensure there is great customer support in the same time zone’’ adds Wals. ‘’Our whole philosophy is that a bike should wear IN. Not out. So when you buy a bike, it should last way longer than a few years before you move to another bike and you should rely on it. The same applies to how we view the customer service experience before and after you buy a Zerode. You’ll be able to rely on us being here.’’

The European connection with Zerode Bikes began in 2012 when Zerode teamed up with German gearbox transmission maker, Pinion, to integrate the technology into their riding platforms. Born at Porsche’s transmission development center in Weissach, Germany, Pinion’s C-Line gearboxes have always been the chosen gearbox for Zerode. In addition to Pinion, Zerode has also eliminated the chain form their drivetrain and incorporated Gates Carbon Drive. '’Our bikes are right at home in the chunkiest of terrain, so having the reliability of tried and tested European technology such as Pinion, and the sturdy durability and reliability of the Gates belt  is extremely important to us’’ says Wals.

Zerode Bikes, founded in 2001 by Rob Metz in Rotorua New Zealand, has been testing and producing enduro and trail riding platforms with internal gearboxes, eliminating the need for external derailleurs and rear clusters.
