JCL, yes, of course a very perceptive rider can feel anything, but I think you might have the story backwards. A shorter offset increases your trail figure and creates more sluggish steering. So if anything, running a 51mm 29er offset on a slacked out 650 enduro bike will actually make it handle tight stuff better. This has also been my experience.

Yup, my bad Brandon. It was a 46mm on the Reign. Doesn't change the fact that 99% of riders wouldn't notice the difference between a 42 and 51, and even if they did they'd forget about it in roughly 5.2 seconds of actual riding. I'd run it, and I'd be way more bummed on a flexy ass spindledick fork with proper offset than a properly stiff one with "the wrong" offset.

Wild guess: none of you have ridden a 650 bike with a 51mm offset fork? I have, friends have, and the survey says... barely noticeable, feels like a bike. Giant even specced the complete Reign with a 51mm offset fork and no one noticed.

SAND PAPER!!!! YOU NEED SAND PAPER!!!! If you don't rough up the rim surface your tape will roll off (just barely) when you change tires 6 months from now, and then air will leak into your rim, but it will only leak out of your valve, and you'll think your valve is the problem, and you'll spend hours trying to fix the seal on your valve, but it's not your valve, it's a huge gaping section of your tape that rolled out of the way and is letting air in through the spoke holes, and then when you finally figure...
