Every time I've seen a brand specify that cranks either have a weight limit or are recommended for 'younger riders', that's code for 'strength concerns'. The limit for BB drop will probably be bikes sucking to ride. Lower BBs effectively give you more stability, but you don't necessarily want an abundance of stability on a bike where you want to be able to change direction quickly.
