11/14/2023 9:46am I always thought wireless shifting & droppers were a silly waste of money until I got a frame with headset routing. Headset routing is so incredibly bad- not only is it a nightmare that takes 4x as long to route as normal internal routing, it compresses the cable housing reducing performance, your headset creaks no matter what you do, and two differen models of dropper have had problems with the cable housing requiring me to do the whole hour long process over and over again.

11/6/2023 11:21pm There is no fancy engineering or anything special about a Push shock really besides it just being well made and some nice CNC work. The secret sauce is in the fact that it is basically custom tuned for the bike and rider. At the end of the day, without the tuning, the RS SD and the Push are almost the...

11/2/2023 1:38pm Whether out of naivety or preference, I personally disagree. I think more linear kinematics with a good long stroke shock that can be set up any which way you want is the ideal scenario for me. The problem is that the ideal setup for each person is subjective (despite what engineering and science says) and if the control is baked...

Sad state of affairs, the UCI should refund him or at least sponsor him another race, after all he complied to their published timeline. #fUCI

10/22/2023 9:29am With the clutches on most derailleurs nowadays, they don’t really take up that much slack, causing chain growth to be more of an issue that it maybe used to be, in the name of a quieter ride.

10/11/2023 2:00pm Surely if someone made a long travel/DH USD fork with this needle bearing designs, whatever the cost, there would be a market for such a premium product even if small and niche 🤷🏻♂️

10/3/2023 7:59am Curious to know what inserts you were running as I have had the completely opposite experience, with cushcore helping to keep my tires ON the rim. the round noodle style inserts do seem to allow the tire to roll off the rim, while the cushcore almost clamps it on.

10/2/2023 12:30pm Speaking of the reserve wheels, did you see Goldstone basically ride nearly a whole run through the rocks etc on a completely flat tire and there was no damage to the rim!? Brings that Danny mcaskill tireless reserve wheel video to mind… quite different to Daprela’s enve explosion 💥 clearly they are very strong rims, maybe TOO strong that they...

9/11/2023 10:51pm I may be wrong here because I have no experience with the Era forks but usually, LSC is just a preload on a shim stack, so my understanding is that it is always regressive once you pass the point of overcoming the preload threshold. Thus LSC is similar to adding preload to a coil shock, if you are using a...

9/9/2023 9:53am The battery under the seat is the AXS dropper, or did you mean the battery that seems to be strapped to the front of the seat tube where a bottle might normally be mounted? Is that part of the flight attendant? Not that I’m aware?

9/9/2023 12:57am “Mentioning the air pressure ratio is an interesting point though - that kind of indicates the intended function and proportion of air chamber sizes. Since the second chamber begins moving once the pressures are equal, a smaller ratio like 1.5 suggests it will begin moving early in the stroke, like before 1/2 of the way through. Because in an air...

8/18/2023 2:39pm Are you seriously worried about 50g difference in shock weight on a 63mm stroke shock? I could cut my hair and lose 50g 😂 In my case where in the total system, the bike is maybe 20% of the weight, 50g especially on a performance suspension component is a trade off I’m willing to take.
