slyfink Added a comment about feature Jared Graves - DH World Championships, South Africa

Thanks for these write-ups Jared, they've been great to read throughout the season. Despite all the photo-journals and videos we as spectators have access to in this day and age, your write-ups have consistently been a highlight of the race-watching experience for me. Your preparation, commitment and professionalism are great to watch. Congrats on your medal, may there be plenty more to come, and good luck with the final EWS race. And, may 2014 be the year of Jared for the EWS Champion....

care to elaborate? I honestly thought a trail like A-line would require more LSC than HSC (unless you're overshooting the transitions and landing to flat). I'm not being snarky. If I'm so far off, I'd like to know why...

You might need to 'splain this to me some more, caus' apparently I'm a little slow...: "Headed to Whistler to crank out some A-Line laps? Crank the HSC up to 3-clicks, push into it more, and you'll get the pop you want. Riding something steep and free of big g-outs where you'd still like to use your full range of travel? Drop HSC down to the first stop, adjust LSC to get that initial stroke feel and hold back and you're on your way." I thought HSC controls high velocity shaft speeds, such as the kind you get from hitting...

ghetto split tube tubeless?!?! and EXO sidewalls?!?! hmmm, would have thought he'd go for something more robust, but it just goes to show what you can do when you're an amazing rider and athlete. Thanks for posting all this, it's interesting to know what they're riding, what works, and what can live up to the abuse these riders mete out. Only one thing left out: what's he using for chain management? edited to add, 4x is dead. deal with it. .....

I've been riding mine since august, approximately 2x/week in the North East (Canada). We had a very wet fall, so I can confirm it works as well in the wet as in the dry. I've had two issues with mine. First is that "it won't drop every once in a while" issue you guys experienced. I brought it to my shop and it was diagnosed as the little kevlar cable inside the post that actuates the drop function having come loose from one of its two clamping points. They clamped it down properly at both ends, and voilà, worked like...

Was Zink riding his old Maelstrom there? The bike he was on didn't look like it had a Delta link... Though that's the main point of my post... I usually don't like to watch the dirt jump stuff, it's just not my cup of tea, but that was really cool. It really shines a light on how technical and physical what they're doing is.

epic. this was a good reminder to me that mountain bikes are more than just about epic single track and berm slaying. It can be about adventure and exploration too. the mountain bike is truly the most versatile mode of transportation there is. well done.

I was about to say... dudes in spandex hugging. got love the yuros. but tsage beat me to it. impressive nonetheless. bigger balls than me. (which begs the question, how does he stuff them into that skinsuit? and given the skinsuit, is this a UCI sanctioned world record?!)

Could it be the Zerode trail bike? it's hard to tell, but it looks like it has room for a gear box in there....
