nothing against sam but his best result in the last 2 seasons has been 20th*. honestly not surprised he wasn't chosen and not sure how sam and VdS go hand in hand - he's never won there and his best result was 3rd*...8 years ago. *this is using his results from rootsandrain. if i'm wrong please correct me.

it seems the yt is much closer to his last bike than his last bike was to the bike before that. change can be difficult but i don't think it's going to be as drastic as before.

ditto. i'm just under 6' and still use a 3" GD. at that drop my thighs don't go past parallel with the ground while seated and the crank at 12 o'clock (so i can still actually pedal) and i have plenty of room for maneuverability. i want my seat out of the way but not feel like it's been removed.

So i might be odd man out, but who's dropping their posts 150-170mm? Honest question, I'm 5' 8" so maybe it a tall person thing? I don't drop my post more than 4" ever and have been trying to wrap my head around the need for such big drops even in a pretty techy riding section

rattlers all over these parts. in 25 yrs of riding i've seen maybe 3 and heard maybe 3 more. they're out there but never seem to be the terror i read about year after year.
