my "XC" hardtail has an Ardent (2.4) up front and a Larson TT (2.35) in the back. great grip for all-around riding and low rolling resistance. sometimes a more aggressive tread in the rear on loose climbs would be great, but otherwise good combo.

We are seeing a rise in grassroots racing (again), which in turn is then being cherry picked to create a national series. read those patents carefully. they are actually quite different. basically, trek seems to have been granted the patent on the grounds that their designs "requires" the shock to be floating, where as DW's patent is just related to the pivot on the axle. there was also some questions about the difference being in the number of bearings and their placement...
