Ö(o)hlins blow fox out of the waters everyday of the week! Have the same suspension setup on my bike and i changed from fox 36 factory fork and dpx2 factory so i hqve a good comparison. Dont get me wrong the fox stuff are good but not close to how good the Öhlins are. As freerider said, they are so much more sensitive and plush, i do run coil in the front as well and its still suuper playfull and the amount of traction and confidence they give/inspire are just crazy.

And fyi @freerider, that is not the EVO fork, its their new m.2 trailfork, the m.2 fork is smoother and you can change between air to coil or coil to air as much as u want to without having to change lowerlegs as you had to before, think it was due to the coil ”damaging” the lowers enough to not get a tight seal when changing from coil to air.

Anyways awsome looking bike!

THIS is how stumpys should be specced!

I put the standard from the front to the back and then added a 40mm pm on the front for the 220 rotor.
Google like avid pm20 bracket or similar and you will find it👍🏼 Just be sure its the right one, so it fits the guide caliper design

Hi man, Lots of great posts, really not much to add. But as some one said above me, basics. I would suggest to get your bike to the lawn outside and just practice lowspeed controll i.e trackstands, counter steering , moving around on the bike while barley ... more »

Just went to Öhlins and picked up a RFX 36 m.2 (trail fork) 170mm coil to slap on my stumpy! Sooo excited to get it on.

I must say that the level of support from Ohlins are some next level out of this world !! To be honest it must be the best experience i’ve had, EVER!! I must have way more then 40+ emails with one of the employees there, and a ton of all kinda stupid questions about pretty much everything, allways got reqlly good, fast replys on every single mail i shot hes way! Excellent is not really enough of a strong word to use to explain my level of satisfaction.

The level of upgrade i felt when i put their ttx22m on my stumpy is just insane, it blew my mind really. The dpx2 that comes with the 2019 s-works stumpy is good, at everything pretty much, but its just that, good. Not wow!! .

I went to ohlins in person and picked up my fork, snd met Keith, the guy i’ve terrorised with emails for quite some time now. Super nice guy, showed me and my buddy around a bit in the workshop, and talked for a while, answered even more questions and gave really good explanations how to think when seting up their products, specificly my coil version! Feeling super confident that i will have it dialed quickly! And if i dont get it setup good, then for sure that Keith ( or anyone at Ohlins with the knowlegde) will be able to help me out to find that magical feeling that they aim for!

*Edit* - more indepth how i painted the rotors.

I used brand new rotors, then washed/cleaned them with alcohol, then covered the braking surface with masking tape and some more further below, otherwise the paint may chip when the rotor goes through the caliper. Then base primer for metal, really thin layers until you get good coverage. Let it harden for 24hrs, then base paint (gold in my case), same there super thin layers, so thin that the primer shines through after 2 layers, added 4layers of paint, let it dry for another 24hrs. Then added some glitter paint, and right after i sprayed 2-3 layers of clear coating. Between each of the same type layer you should wait 2-3minutes. Would sugest using some washers when screwing on the rotors, otherwise you might crack the paint when tightening the screws.
