DT swiss 3 pawl system. I ended up having it happen 2 more times but you can tell by the creaking noise.

I had a horrible creak coming from the BB/rear wheel a few years ago that I just could not solve. Pulled and tightened the shock bolts/pivot bolts/cranks/pedals/chainring and cleaned/greased the rear thru axle threads all to no avail. Turns out my hub axle had sheared but the cassette was still solidly on the wheel. One day I took the rear...

For me, it's more a public understanding of science thing or human dignity thing than a mtb thing. With any measurement, there's some minimum difference that matters to the person doing it. With any measuring tool, there's some minimum difference the tool can resolve. Strava was never honest with its user base about how long segments should be in order to have some agreed upon confidence level that rider 1 rode the segment faster than rider 2. For a leaderboard type function to be engaging to users the difference that matters may be smaller than the tool's resolution, making the...

I have found that my phone GSP is not accurate enough for Strava. I have heard that it can because several apps are trying to use the location and also because the refresh rate on phone GPS is not tuned for the types of activities like mountain biking. I have had much better luck with using the Strava app on my apple watch.

I've ridden a both a 2.4 HR2 and 2.4 DHR2 in EXO maxxterra already AND I always run 28 psi rear with exo casing so that would be an apples to apples comparison (same rim ID as well). My comment simply built on the review it wasn't a complete summary. Anyways, thanks Vital and Jenson!

The rear tire I ran previously was a 2.3 DHR2 DD in maxxterra but the increase in rolling speed of the dissector was extremely noticeable. I just put a 2.5 HR2 DD maxxterra back on the rear and rode the same trails in the same conditions the next day and my immediate thought was the HR2 is slower but has more bite and better cornering. The dissector is extremely close to HR2 I would agree and I'm running the HR2 at 26 psi and the dissector was 28 psi. I disagree about the aggressor rolling speed but only because I...

There are basically 3 properties with tubes: OD, ID, and material. If you want to make it stiffer you can increase wall thickness or material, but since we are talking about aluminum (probably 7000 series or 6069, but probably 7000 series) then material doesn't matter as it's likely the same. Aluminum has an optimal wall thickness to diameter ratio for...

Mountain bike brand adds 2mm to their product and entire industry looses its shit. How on earth did they think of this? Such ground breaking innovation
