Bottom link rotates backwards to compress the shock from the bottom. There is a virtual pivot much higher than the idler pulley, but that's fine because the lower link, that rotates backwards, is where the idler is mounted so it moves backwards too. This means you don't need a sky high pulley location, so more efficiency, shorter chain, less frame material, less stress on the frame and bearings, etc. Brilliant.

Flippy-floppy as in it changes direction of rotation mid travel. Just like "what Yeti did originally" and the Ibis bikes. As for single pivot, no, this bike is not a single pivot.
