Still waiting on news of Isla Short, who seems to be back solo as 'Short Factory Racing'. She did announce Endura as her clothing sponsor, but no news on bikes etc.
New 2022 Scott Spark's are out in May. Dealers don't know have any advanced info, and they will be finding out on release day. Going to be new RC version in time for Nino etc to ride at the Olympics.
Tom Pidcock confirmed to be joining Ineos a month early, and he is racing MTB in February, 'doing a MTB block' in June, and hopefully the Olympics (though I don't think GB can qualify a rider). He seems to be targeting Elite World Cups, and has made it known he wants to win the World Champs. But what bike will...
Interesting. I did wonder if Specialized would come on board and replace Pinarello at Ineos, because Pidcok has gone there. Like they follow Sagan around and sponsor whatever team he is on, and MvDP and Canyon. That way Specialized keep Pidcock on their bikes across all disciplines.
That would be an interesting move, and leave Specialized with an empty male roster (who else do they have?). They can't even call on Tom Pidcock riding Specialized any more, as he is off to Ineos. Though if Tom does race Elite XC WCs and Olympics it will be interesting to see what MTB he uses, as I can't imagine...
Came across a rumour (from back in September) that MvdP's CX team were switching to Canyon from 1st January on a 3 year deal. Which would then include Canyon MTBs for when he races.
That is very interesting. His CX team is sponsored by Stevens, a German bike brand, and he rode one of their MTB bikes at the WC races last year. I wonder if Canyon are going sponsor his CX team for 2018/19, or if this is just a MTB contract?
