Looking Forward to this film to share with my son (who races DH) Bring on more super slow-mo!, (we love to watch the bikes work as much as the riders). This should be another great film by a true craftsman.

The larger wheel makes sense for DH (esp in the front) I would suggest INtense tries a 650B (27.5") approach, you get the benefits of the larger footprint, dont give up all the wheel strength (spokes only 7mm longer), and they dont feel as big or sluggish as the 29ers in steering. I have been running these for over a year on my trail bike with good results. (I just built up a FR bike with 650bs as well. Good stuff.

There is a definite advantage to larger diameter wheels for DH application,. 650B could be a better rim size choice for DH as they can be built up as strong as 26" but still give you a larger outer diameter for rolling over rocks etc.. They would also require less frame geo re-engineering. I would think that a larger front wheel and smaller rear would be the hot setup for DH. 650b up front 26 rear or deep V 29 er up front and V 650b rear.
