Monster Truck Started a new thread What do you want to see in build kits?

8/17/2014 12:12am
So we've been working on our build kits for the production GG/DH's at Guerrilla Gravity and wanted to get some feedback on what riders want to see in their kits. Anything you feel other manufacturers overlook?

Hey folks, If you have a moment, please cruise over to the Grow America competition page and cast a vote for Guerrilla Gravity and help support 'Merican made bikes. I apologize for the spam, but we could really use the startup capital as we move into production here in Colorado. Thanks a bunch for your time! Contest link Cheers...

Monster Truck Added a comment about product review Megatrail (2014)

s.sheline, how tall are ya? If you're 5'11" or under you could look at the Small frame, which has all the standover you could want. There was no way a water bottle would fit, so we just gave it a buncha standover. Like Dave, I'm 5'9" and on the cusp, so standover will be a tad on the tall side, since we're on the bottom end of the spectrum, but I'm still going Medium bc I like just using a water bottle for shorter rides--it's like riding DH without armor.

by Dave Trumpore We recently had a chance to visit the folks at Guerrilla Gravity in Denver, Colorado for a tour of the shop and to take a look at their newest trail bike project, the Megatrail. In a day and age where most manufacturing, welding, and assembly happens far overseas, it was quite refreshing to see the inner workings of a more homegrown operation right here in our backyard. Guerrilla Gravity truly keeps it local by doing all of the work in house. The only exception being the CNC bits that are contracted out, but even those are produced...

Hey Mike, A lot of back-and-forth went into the sizing after initial skeptics were concerned it would be too long. But once you take the average length stem spec'ed on bikes (60-70 mm) and combine it with the average seatpost offset a lot of folks run (15-25 mm), the number you come up with is not much different for given rider height recommendations. And the small bit of extra room in the cockpit you are left with is good for getting rid of that cramped cockpit feel that a lot of trail bikes have and is what you want if...

The GG/DH is on par or surpasses many of the current mainstream downhill bikes. A weekend warrior or a seasoned racer can set-up the bike for fun and to win races. I know for a fact that the bike can be built up to a 36.5Lb race bike with basic downhill parts. It is a great bike to ride, rails corners, rips through steep gnarly trail sections and is simple to maintain. Set up is super easy with the GG/DH baseline recommendations, a couple runs to tweak in the suspension to personal preference, and the bike is ready for race...

Yup, we've had quite a bit of interest for an XL, so we're planning on it for 2014. We won't be able to make the necessary tooling mods this year without putting us behind schedule. Our current Long is good for folks up to 6'2", with 6'3" being the cusp. How tall are you? Also, thanks for the vote! It's...

I'd love to see an big-prize urban DH race in the City. How about the weekend before Sea Otter?

No matter where nat'l champs are, some people are gonna be pissed; our country is large. Angel Fire is one of the country's best bike parks and by the time 2013 rolls around it might be the best park in 'Merica. So, get stoked for an epic trip! ... I'd bet the West Coast is up next. The PNW would be cool. What venue has the best facilities for the event?

They have a great grassroots scene down there, lots of dedicated riders. We've had several come up and race with us, all super nice dudes--and fast. And after going to a race down there, I can say their fans and hecklers rival our top races. A fun time for sure! As soon as our frames are ready, we'll be down...

I think it's a pretty good move on MSC's part, to go into a sort of "preservation mode." I know our race team wasn't planning to do the full MSC schedule and they've had a few other key teams (notably Mojo) drop their attendance as well. At several of the races last year turn out was pretty poor and I'm...

This would be great. From what I understand, the Forest Service is a real PITA to deal with in terms of getting new trails, even new sections of existing trails, approved. It seems resorts on NF land will have a hard time competing with somewhere like Whistler for tourist dollars (=jobs) if their growth is hindered so badly. I think...
