Check out the specs on a similarly intended bike like the Commencal Clash 20... same reach, 345mm CS (longer = more stable) and also have 140mm cranksets. And they weight 30-31lbs, which is probably similar to these. They aren't XC bikes, they're made for years of abuse. I'm pretty sure they went with boost hubs because almost all their bikes have boost rears, making it more cost effective to order parts/axles/dropouts from suppliers. The boost spacing should also make a stronger wheel... great for kids.

Kotori 20" $1300 CAD, 24" $1395 CAD as per their website. I'd take the Rampage 1 over the Kotori as my local Norco dealer is a 5 minute drive with free tune ups for the life of the bike... saves me $50-75 each time, so it will pay off the price difference. Yes, I could easily do the tune ups, wheel trues, but it takes my time away from family time. Regardless of your preference for brands, these bikes are awesome!

Except for the Fluid 1s, the prices are about the same but in CAD... Fluid 2s +$100, Rampage 1s are the same and the Rampage 2s are -$100 at $899! And everyone needs to stop with "Kid's bikes are expensive"... go look at the cost of any Rep level sport, tournament travel/food/lodging alone will be 2-3 times the cost of the Fluid 1s. These bikes are for the kids that SHRED... you can go buy the Storm or Charger (got my daughter one and it's awesome) for a lot less. The value is in riding with your child and if...

According to Norco's site it's $899 CAD... I'd say that's pretty damn good value. This is kid's DJ bike, so you would have to compare the Rampage to the Kotori, which is $1300... $400 less, seems like a decent value to me. The 2.1 is $1499 CAD and has a fork with real adjustments... and, knowing Manitou, will last.

Glad you stuck to just one wheel size for the comparison. I'd love to see a 27.5 vs 29 for bikes that offer both wheel sizes.

Transition will have Fox 36s and 34s (perf elite and grip versions) available with 44mm offsets and Rockshox Lyriks, Yaris and Revelations/Pikes (for Smugglers) will be 42mm according to a post from Transition on mtbr. DVO is going to make a 44mm Diamond as well.

I heard rumblings that it's designed around 160mm front and 140mm rear, but that was late 2016... hopefully they decided to go a little bigger and do at least 150mm rear. I think this will likely be my next bike too.

Granted I hear good things about the MRP forks and the specs/features of this sound really interesting but that arch... electrical/vinyl tape or stickers applied to the reverse of a fork's arch can prevent the problem and don't look fugly.
