Sorry to go on, but I think that the rule applied, muddies the waters, in what is a really simple sport, where you ride down the hill as fast as you can and the fastest wins. When there is a human element in the decision it can (and has) caused controversy.

You are right about blaming Rachel. The commissaire is the one who made the bad decision. I think people are saying that maybe Hannah and Ragot were unfairly treated by this and Rachel was the lucky one.

I also think the ruling was bad. Tapes and poles can be used to tighten a course as well as stop cutting. Go outside a pole, get DQed. GT and Rachel should give up the win and take it on the chin, all in the name of good sportsmanship.

This ridiculous lawsuit is already taking effect. A downhill section of an off road trail in Wales, UK, has had its KOM removed as it is 'hazardous'. This is not on a public highway, which is the reason the guy died in the lawsuit. If Strava start censoring the segments, I will stop using it. In fact, the 'segments' are the only reason I stopped using gamin connect!

Stupid law suit and the Lawyer, if she loses, should be struck off for wasting the courts time, Strava's time and prolonging the families grief. The family should get on with their lives and be glad Kim was defending something he was passionate about.

Rad. It's great that mountain bikes are at this level and that manufacturers are confident enough to say, ride pretty much what you want on our light bikes! It is a pretty pure mountain biking.
