kvnsimons Added a comment about product review EVO 2.3

Thanks for the review. I never knew about the benefits of an offset spoke hole pattern or about brass nipples. Ok, maybe brass nipples, but that's another story...Kidding aside, I just noticed that the wheels that I started breaking spoke nipples on last summer (at about 4-5 months of riding) do not have an offset pattern. Perhaps it wasn't just my shitty whips that caused this. Are there examples of affordable rims / wheels (in my book, under $800 built with a decent hub, retail), that have offsets and are known to be bomb-proof? Also, 32-hole. I'd like a wheelset...

I'd totally be into this if it as stable (or more) as the Go Pro. If it has good stabilizing software and refresh rate, then it's a great addition to mountain bike POV cameras. If not, next...Let's see a review and some choppy downhill footage shot in low light! Most of the clips in their promo are NOT POV...whassup wit dat?!

Good wheels for aggressive trail riding. After about a month of downhill, they started breaking spokes.

I went for the first time. Utterly speechless to how HUGE these lines are...I think that the riders should be ready to go for Saturday morning, take a vote, and when the wind is right, DO IT! Saturday, Sunday...whichever. These lines were so SICK and dangerous that taking the wind out of the equation with a two-day window would be the safest bet. Make the decision and let the crowd watch practice or go ride the old course!

kvnsimons Added a comment about news story Brett Rheeder Wins X-Games Slopestyle in Munich

Man, I wouldn't blame anyone for opting out of that course. Especially if it was windy. I agree that it looks bad, but having a death or someone getting paralyzed would look way worse. The course looked like it was consistently A LOT bigger than anything else we've seen, so whatever. Those last three runs were insane, btw...congrats to Rheeder.

Aaron Gwin redefined the sport in the last two years. In terms of speed and style, he's been on another level. Well, the rest of the pros just caught up...and in the case of Atherton and Smith, surpassed him. Gwin's on a new bike, getting his feel. Maybe he ate some donuts in the off-season. Give him a break. Does anyone remember the explosions Gee had last year getting himself up to speed? And look where he is now...

Wow, so much speculation. My guess is that it ain't about the bike. Trek, Specialized, DeVinci, Santa Cruz etc. all will get it done with the right pilot and the right suspension. I for one am happy that there are some other pros who can win. Gwin was astonishing the last two years, but it was getting boring watching him win by such large margins. Doesn't anyone remember how exciting it was when Minnaar and Gee were duking it out in '10 (?). That was the last exciting World Cup season. Now with so many old and NEW faces within...

that is an incredible shot! for one, it is damn near impossible to shoot a great jump shot that doesn't end up being all butt...but you've got such great composition and motion in that...you should be proud!
