7/15/2025 12:30pm The entire company structure was available in the Rocky Mountain bankruptcy filings. We're nerds here, I know. I'll refrain from saying more because we already have the "will more companies be shutting down in the next 12-24 months thread" which is actually "Bike business discussion thread" or "lessons in bike company finance and valuation with Jeff", and I'm afraid someone will link that thread to tell me to stop discussing such things in the tech rumour thread.

7/15/2025 9:47am The information available was on the site was vague but what lead me to the conclusion of being the same company is that Dyname and Rocky share the same address in Quebec. Too bad the old version of Dyname’s website is gone.

7/15/2025 9:46am I mentioned it in the Powerplay SL review, but Dyname, Rocky Mountain’s in house motor company, is seeking to get involved with additional bike companies. ” As we enter a new era, we're thrilled to announce that we're now open for business and eager to help new bike brands develop their electric lineups. While we'll continue our valued collaboration with...

6/30/2025 2:09pm Natural frequency is proportional to mass and stiffness, and since stiffness is the same it will just be determined by the difference in mass. I agree we’re probably not anywhere near approaching the natural frequency of any of the axles, but I would think it would make a tangible difference well before that point anyway.

6/30/2025 9:51am Stiffness is just displacement under a given load. Steel and aluminum will have different material damping and rebound properties even when their stiffness is identical. I’m imagining the legs of an inverted fork can be thought of like a tuning fork, and axle material will change how that tuning fork sounds.

6/29/2025 10:55am Fix your front wheel in a stand and hang a scale off one end of your handlebar. Pull on the scale parallel to the ground with a predetermined force and measure the displacing at the handlebar.

6/28/2025 11:21am Long story short, Mr. Robot is right, the fork is really good, like really really good. Tried to burp a little air out of the fork and got a little oil on my rotor but other than that, setup was straight forward and I am happy.

6/17/2025 7:45am We tested Crankbrothers new Synthesis Enduro Alloy 2.0 wheels that launched today and were super impressed by how stout and durable they were. Our tester Mikey has broken every wheel I've ever seen him ride, and these wheels have made it just about 4 months completely unscathed. Which honestly speaks more to their durability than Commencal/Muc-Off racing with them 😂 They're sold as individual wheels, but complete sets retail for $700 (CB hubs) and $900 (i9 hubs), and the rims carry a lifetime warranty—a first for Crankbrothers on alloy rims. There is also a DH/e-MTB model. https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/wheelsets/crankbrothers/synthesi… Highlights - Reinforced...

TheSuspensionLabNZ Liked a reply to forum topic Have We Been Measuring Sag Wrong? (and how to fix it...)
6/16/2025 5:35am This is where the argument for measuring at the wheel comes from - you are correct when looking at % sag at the wheel, but the change in rate through the stroke means you have an inversion of % shock stroke used vs % of wheel travel used. Ie on a progressive bike, 25% shock sag might equal 30% wheel travel and 75% at the shock is 70% at the wheel. But on a more linear bike 30% at the shock might be 25% at the wheel.
