How would you put the Guerrilla Gravity Smash up against this bike? Looking at that bike or the Sentinel. Or maybe thinking of backing off on the travel and going with the Scout or Smuggler. Not sure I need all the travel or not

The previous version was was a very fun bike on the right kinds of trails. We loved its directness and playfulness, helping it carry good speed as long as the trail wasn't too harsh. It would get in over its head when things got hairy, although that is mostly to be expected from a 120mm platform. The new version takes a step in the more forgiving direction, and it also benefits from the same type of leverage ratio curve makeover as the AM V4.2 - i.e. more progressive and using a longer stroke, metric shock.
