Love how you have done a flex, split piv, and bearing fuax bar versions of the same basic layout. Great work regardless of what the internet tolls say.

I've used both: DOT and mineral and to be honest for me it doesn't matter because I do regular maintenance of my brake system. A lot of winters ago mineral oil was hard to get and very expensive (in Poland at least) in opposite to cheap and easly buyable DOT but now you can get anything you want in a blink of an eye. Fun fact: in Poland they recently tested DOT 4 from many manufactureres and results were alarming: only 2 DOT 4s met the legal requiraments to be named safe to use. Rest of them evaporated immediately :/

"when things aren't bleeding just right" is the source of the problem. If I'm not able to bleed the system correctly that means that some air is going in from worn seals. I know that strange things happens but in all seriousnes I've never own brakes that couldn't be bleed properly (Shimano, Avid, Tektro or TRP)

Leaving lever open overnight is ridiculos. I've been using disc brakes for over a decade now and I've never done that. However I think that using oridinary syringe to bleed the system is a very good idea in opposite to Avid bleed kits which very goddamm expensive just a few years ago. For me the best option is syringe, tubes and fittngs matching lever reservoir from independent manufacturer.

bturman Liked a product review Tested: TRP 4-Piston G-Spec Trail SL Disc Brakes

Aaron Gwin's impact on TRP has been tremendous, and the latest brake from the growing brand benefits from the technologies developed with one of the world's best downhill racers. Together they made the burly Quadiem brake, scrutinizing every detail along the way, and much of it bears a close resemblance to the new Trail SL brake you see before you. You'll find the same G-Spec lever blade and finned caliper body on both brakes, although the Trail SL gets mismatched piston sizes and its own lever body. How does that downhill pedigree transfer over to the everyday trail ride? After...

I own Slate 4 and must say that they are way and I mean way, better than expected when I first saw them on my new bike. Though they're not as powerful as Saints they is still plenty enough bite to stop you. On my version the blidding nipple is fking nightmare. You have to be brain surgent to open it to allow the flow of the fluid but not to much to make a flood. Other than that they're really good brakes and G-spec versions seems to have all the child-problems solved. I think that TRP will have its...
