joss Added a comment about bike check DVO'd Giant Reign

6/4/2015 5:16pm
Very soft! It's a 57mm stroke shock yielding 160mm of travel--a pretty high leverage ratio at 2.8:1. I ordered the stock shock from DVO to test how plush it would ride. At the moment, I'm running a lot of compression damping, but I haven't yet dialed in my base tunes on a variety of terrain. Once I have those base tunes set, I'll talk to those guys about customizing the tune. It rides great descending, but conversely pedals softly

Your best bet this time of year is to ride Eagle Mountain. Start with the Flintstone trail, and start looking around from there.

joss Added a reply to offset shock bushings for slacker head angle

The bushings we tested were proto (as in prototype: rough, scragly, unfinished), but those things look prodo (as in production: clean). Like VW, I'm surprised no one has gone prodo with these earlier, as they really made a nice difference on a number of bikes. Someone could make hundreds of dollars selling those things. @ Erik: you can't expect everyone...

If you want to get paid, earn an engineering degree and learn to speak Chinese. If not, keep trusting in all that bullshit our hippie parents fed us about living your dreams, and doing what you love, and trusting in your path, and having faith in the kindness of others, and following your passion, and never working a day in...

This is EXACTLY how marketing should work. Tell a story, throw in some "history," and entertain the hell out of some sh*t. Well done! By the way (B.T.W.) I love the my Five.Ten's--not literally, that would be gross.

Mitch went to the World Cups last year on his own dime, did all his own wrenching, made all his own arrangements, found all his own food, figured out all those other languages, etc. Imagine doing all that, and then trying to race at an elite level. Mitch is a great kid and damn fast. It's great to know he...

joss Added a comment about feature Real Life Comparison: Vivid Air and Vivid Coil

1/5/2011 12:56pm
Great write-up. Steve is fast. I wonder if you would still have to run higher air pressure if you were running the medium- or firm-tuned compression circuit on the vivid air. Only one way to find out: "experiment, one click at a time." SPAM: We at Go-Ride also demo these shocks. Give us a call.

That is a really tricky bolt to remove, since cutting a slot in the head of the bolt requires almost surgical precision with the dremel. To cut said slot, you are going to need a well-worn (smaller diameter) cutting wheel, so it fits into that tiny space in the caliper. Otherwise, you will simply cut the caliper with the wheel...
