7/23/2026 4:30pm If I'm doing the math right, with the slim driver, the both flanges move 4.5mm to the right, and the wheel should have symmetric bracing left and right. Probably want to use a rim without offset nipples. Should make for a strong wheel, stronger actually than a conventional 157, due to the symmetric bracing.

7/23/2026 9:18am Yeah, I posted this a page or two ago. Dual motor eCVTs were a new discovery for me. Absolutely makes sense for ebikes, but no chance at all of "trickle-down" technology to pedal bikes, as a few folks in the thread had hoped for.

7/22/2026 9:39am So probably a small change on the frame, plus glovebox and extra bolts for accessory mounts. Hopefully it's not heavier than the Blur 4 frame, but it probably is with the added glovebox. Seems weird to add that to a racing bike, but perhaps SC sees it more as a all-around short-travel bike these days.

7/21/2026 4:27pm Looks like a fun project, but I'm curious how much damage that kind of locking mechanism does to the surface of the shaft. Seems like there will be friction in the system and build up of ablated material inside over time. Nice job thinking outside of the box though.

7/21/2026 4:01pm Solidworks Edit: I forced the angle to be 66 degrees, and it seems to line up well with the fork legs, but doesn't appear to line up well with the head tube. The head tube is short, and likely a bit tapered, so this seemed like the right approach.

7/21/2026 11:30am Here's a couple more pics. Maybe someone can pull HTA off of these pics with a bit of sleuthing. Reported number for reach and stack look super close to the current design. They added glovebox. If that's the only change other than color, then perhaps not really interesting.

7/21/2026 11:18am I don't know for sure, but someone on MTBR posted that size large would have 66 HTA, 75 STA, and adjusted stack and reach. If the HTA number is accurate, that's a pretty massive change - from 68.3. That's close to the Tallboy.

7/19/2026 4:22pm My impression has been that most posters in this thread agree that GB with chain or belt have a justifiable place in gravity bikes. It's their use in XC and trail bikes that get pedaled a lot that is still a point of contention. Also, I'm not sure if this is common knowledge here, but a new discovery for me...

Eagle 90: Heavier Larger Razor thin margin in how it shifts better under load No better at controlling chain slap (I'd argue this is bike-dependent anyway) More complex to set up More than enough reasons to justify my purchase of extra X01 DRs and shifters, although these things are bombproof so who knows when I'll tap into them.

And just like that, I've just learned that being able to switch between 30T and 32T charrings without having to faff with chain length is also one of the many benefits of the Jab over Transmission. Looking at where the drivetrains of SRAM and Shimano have been going lately, Madrone's timing could not have been any better.

7/15/2026 12:46pm For me it's that I've never had a problem getting X01 and XX1 mechanical Eagle DRs to shift perfectly, and all the T-type DRs are much larger and heavier. I still prefer mechanical, as am one of the few that prefers a grip shift instead of a trigger, and again, the size and weight.
