jgusta Added a comment about bike check Custom Santa Cruz 5010

I hear ya. I have a Bronson with -1 deg angleset and ride with fork lowered to 125mm alot as well, especially on railing fast, hardpacked XC flow-style trails for the lower BB and sligthly steeper angles to hug the ground better. HTA ends of being just a hair over 67 degrees with BB

Good review, thanks for taking the time. Did you notice a difference between mid-stroke support of 5010 vs Bronson? I just got back from Sedona and tested an Alu 5010 and Bronson and Bronson felt a little more lively to me in the suspension while climbing and descending while also feelilng a little more more planted and stable to me. I was even able to climb the tech of Sedona easier on Bronson due to better, more neutral geometry while seated pedaling for some reason as well. I thought for sure the 5010 was going to ride like a smaller...

E.T. Liked a product review First Ride: Santa Cruz Bronson Carbon

2/23/2014 9:53pm
Reviewed by Evan Turpen // Photos by Gary Perkin When I first heard about the Santa Cruz Bronson I was skeptical. I got the impression that Santa Cruz just slapped 650B (~27.5-inch) wheels on to a Blur TRc-esque frame and tweaked the geometry and suspension slightly to get more travel and fit the new wheels. After riding the bike and hearing the development process, however, I am happy to report that my skepticism was unfounded. The Bronson is an entirely new bike from the ground up and I have to say that Santa Cruz has done a great job. Santa...

bturman Liked a product review 2014 Test Sessions: Norco Sight Carbon 7.1

2/15/2014 10:54am
Reviewed by Steve Wentz and Brandon Turman // Photos by Shawn Spomer and Lear Miller New for 2014, the 140mm travel Norco Sight makes the leap from aluminum to carbon. In doing so they’ve reduced the frame weight by a whopping 25% and improved the ride characteristics. While the geometry remains the same, Norco did take the time to make a handful of minor updates. Combining the smooth lines of carbon, a dialed paint job and a little color coordination in the component spec, this bike truly is a sight to behold. In fact, we’d wager that it’s the best...

This review pretty much mirrors what I experience as well when I tested it a couple of weeks ago. Whenever climbing or descending I always felt like I was in the perfect position on bike. I think they nailed the geometry and supple, snappy feel for a bike that is quite balanced with climbing and descending, what a perfect trail bike should feel like. My only main concern was the bottom out as well. I am a little heavier rider at +200 lbs. and had rather harsh bottom out on frame with bad noise with less than 30% sag on...

jgusta Added a comment about product review Nevegal X Pro

Good review and thanks for posting. I was intrigued by this tire when it was first introduced due to much shorter, wider and siped knobs in different fashion, kind of Maxxis'ish, which I like. I never really cared for old Nevegal and was thinking I may dig this as it looks faster with potentially better traction than before. My concern was the very roundish profile which can make for tire wash-out turning during hard cornering/leaning. Your review validates my concerns in cornering, so thanks for saving me the dough. Sticking with Maxxis, but this tire my work well on rear...
