Review by Sven Martin // Photos by Adrian Marcoux, Sven Martin, and SRAM When you saw the recent SRAM X01DH drivetrain feature, you might have wondered why SRAM would fly a bunch of journalists from all around the world to New Zealand just to sample a few less gears. As successful as that launch went, you’re right, it wasn’t just about gears and Queenstown beers… We also came to sample something else - something more than just refinement and product extension, something more like cheating. While not entirely new to the eyes (it was on a number of 2013 World...

Nah...it doesn't seem long to me. I'm sure if I rode something shorter it might whip around switchbacks a bit better but I certainly don't have any issues...I recently jumped on a gambler(16.7" stay) coming off riding DHRs(17.4" stay) for 13 years and I've actually had some issues looping the thing out in some turns. I'm playing with less sag and firmer suspension to combat this but I may find that I prefer a bit longer chain stay and end up being the only weirdo on the planet running the gambler in the long chainstay setting...we will see...but to answer...

It definitely feels like has more travel when you need it to. The medium wheels help with chatter and small stuff but I swear this thing handles...

Thanks man! I'm not reviewing the michelins but I will say that I really really dig them. The front is super predictable and rolls reasonably fast for how meaty it is. Cornering is too notch. As for the rear, I just got it and have only done a few rides on it. That thing is impressive. If you want a tire with a bit more meat and volume than your average semi slick it's a great choice. I was shocked at how good the braking and cornering is considering how small and short the knobs are...I would even go as...

unsure of the release date. as for durability...I haven't had it that long, but there was definitely nothing indicating it wasn't in it for the long haul...
