Well i'm going to start by wishing all the injured riders a speedy recovery and specially to Paul since we kinda share the same name haha. All the best to all and thank you for pushing yourselves to the absolute limit of your capicity to bring our sport to new levels by risking it everyday so we don't really have to. As for Red Bull and Rampage as an event (i wasnt able to watch or attended but i follow it every year), but i do follow it every year thanks to Vital and other mountain biking sites. I personally...

The guys should have more time, and their run should be assessed and made to modify it or not allowed to run it. catch nets is a good idea for the really sketchy areas. They should really listen to the riders.

Anyone know if this is legit? Brandon? I saw it on a link from Teton Gravity. www.gofundme.com/supportforPaulB

It's not just the lack of funding that's the issue. Don't forget Red Bull itself is unhealthy at best and allegedly potentially lethal at worst. Check this out.

Excellently said. The riders do choose to get up there and compete for themselves, but as you said: the FEST series is far, far different than the biggest annual single event for RedBull where millions are made. These men are pushing the very limits not just of our sport, but of human ability. And instead of valuing their contributions and paying them what they deserve, our industry is treating them like circus animals. Pay them peanuts and those animals will always perform for the chance to earn popcorn, but these guys aren't products -- they're people. They aren't objects to...

Heal up Paul! Also, if these guys aren't getting paid, we need to figure out a different word than "pro".

Well said. I wasn't sure why this rampage left me with a sour taste in my mouth but this helps explain it. Judges may have mis-scored some riders but I think that didn't bug me too much because you could tell most of the riders were stoked to ride their lines on their own terms regardless of what someone else thought of it. Sure it means that they don't get the biggest cardboard check but when the event fails to protect the riders' lives or even their time investment to show up then it's obvious something is messed up at...

DaddyFras Liked a product review Not just any socks

9/29/2015 12:12am
Socks are socks, right? I mean, I buy socks to top up my parts orders to get over the free shipping threshold - and it's usually the cheapest, or first pair that I like the look of when I type in 'socks'. This held true until the planets aligned when one particular shopping basket needed topping up, and I hastily hit buy on what would unwittingly become the best pair of socks I ever owned - the Royal Trail socks. Really, I think they're perfect. They're light - so light that when I soak my foot halfway through a long...
