I always hear about how great coils are. I tried a Push 11-6 a while back and just didn't get along with it. It was impossible to stop it from bottoming out even though it was set up from the factory(local to me) for the bike in question and my weight. A couple hundred dollars in springs later, it just didn't perform noticeably better than then Float X it was replacing and shock and springs got sold at a big loss. 12/15/2023 7:05am Good point on the weight bias moving around as you change the stem/fork. If you're a particular person, expect to be adjusting shock/fork pressures by a few psi if you change your weight bias much.

11/15/2023 3:24pm I can't speak to XC-type tires since those don't work for me, but the difference between a heavy DHR2 and a light DHR2 is noticeable when you're reaching the exhaustion point of your "I've been climbing non-stop as long as I can" run.

11/15/2023 10:46am I think you're more likely to notice the weight of the tire if your climbs are typically difficult and rough and you have to continually be accelerating the mass to deal with trail irregularities. If you're just spinning up a fire road, you'll not notice the extra mass because you don't have to accelerate it as much. I feel it...

10/17/2023 5:15pm There appear to be a lot of folks who fit oddly like you do. 5'9" with 30" inseam and 6'2" wingspan for me. I have to have a short seat tower in order to get good dropper action, but size L is my friend. I like a tall stack.

I've not tried any shorter cranks, but I've been riding 175s for 33 years without any issues. To be honest, it's unlikely I'll get an apples-to-apples comparison of a shorter crank, so I'll probably just keep buying what I know. The 172.5 is so close to 175 that if I had to have these specific cranks I would just get those because that 0.1" really won't change anything. After doing some reading on it, it really seems like if a 175 works for your body, then it's fine. Going shorter just because that's the thing right now won't get you...
